Painting the New Landscape
In this one-day workshop on the shores of the Charles River, approach painting the landscape with fresh eyes and a daring brush. We’ll pay special attention to value, color and composition. Acrylic is the preferred medium, but other painting mediums are welcome.

Materials
Please bring to class:
- portable easel (if you don't have one available, contact instructor)
- palette or palette paper
- painting surfaces (at least 2 or 3) – your choice of stretched canvas, panel or canvas board. Please include one 12” x 16” or smaller; none larger than 24” x 24”; additional pieces in sizes of your choice.
- brushes: flats or filberts: at least one 2” wide, one 1” wide, one 1/2” wide. Optional: thin line brush, fan brush, sponge brush
- palette knife (or knives) for paint mixing and/or application
- rags or paper towels
- water jar(s)
- spray bottle (to keep your paints wet; acrylics dry fast outdoors)
Optional:
- mediums (optional) such as: acrylic medium (matte or glossy), acrylic glazing liquid, retarder
- rubber or nitrile gloves to protect your skin
- digital camera (if you want to take pictures to use later to continue your work at home
