Purses & More: New Life for Old Sweaters
Using old sweaters ‘felted’ with hot water and soap at home (instructions provided in advance), come together to create a wallet, purse or potholders. Learn to adapt and maintain the sewing machine for use with felted wool, and finish your work to last. Some playful embellishment completes a delightful product.

Materials
You are encouraged to bring your own recycled sweaters. We will provide instructions in advance for selecting and felting your sweaters, along with ideas for items to be used as embellishments.
If you prefer to buy from the instructor, pre-felted sweaters will be available in class for approximately $10 per student.
Bring an assortment of beads, ribbons and buttons to use as embellishments. You may also purchase some of these from the instructor in class for a nominal cost of $1 to $5 per student.
All students should bring to class:
- size 66 bobbins
- sewing thread
- hand-sewing needles for embellishments
- pincushion with common pins
- scissors
