Wood Turning: Simple Projects

Experience the fun and empowerment of making simple objects on the lathe. Beth Ireland writes:

“The lathe is one of the only wood shop tools with which a total beginner can make a finished project in a short time. While traveling around the country working on Turning Around America, I introduced the lathe to students as young as five and as old as ninety. I will introduce projects I taught on my yearlong trip: pens, whistles, turning tools and an awl. If you are an artist wanting to add wood to your work, or just someone fascinated with wooden objects, this is the perfect class for you.”

We are offering this two-day workshop twice, once at the Eliot School and once at North Bennet Street School in Boston’s North End. You may take just one, or enroll in both and further increase your skills.
