"Slow Cloth & the Fabric of Society"
A Talk with Leonore Alaniz
Thursday, September 27, 2012
7pm
At the Eliot School, 24 Eliot Street, Jamaica Plain
Admission: Free
Textile artisan Leonore Alaniz links fiber arts to the Slow Food–Slow Living movement. Comparing pleasure vs efficiency, nature vs toxins, heirloom vs throwaway, she asks, “What values do we express with our craft, and what culture do we help create?”
A small group is forming to continue the conversation begun at this talk. If you're interested, let us know.
