Volunteer

We can use your help.

Let us know if you want to volunteer. We are happy to accept volunteers and interns, to fill out school paperwork and write letters acknowledging community service.

• ASSIST A TEACHER

  We are looking for interns and volunteers to assist our teachers in woodworking and art classes for children in local public schools. We also sometimes use volunteer assistants in our own classrooms, particularly in children's art and woodworking and adult woodworking and upholstery classes.

• HELP IN THE OFFICE

  Maintain mailing lists, sort archives, and help keep our office organized in a relaxed, friendly environment.

• RECORD OUR HISTORY

  We are looking for trained historians to record interviews with people who experienced the Eliot School's 20th century history. This history remains to be written.

• STAFF EVENTS

  Help set up, clean up, and staff our information and activity tables at Open House, JP Open Studios, Craft Fair, Student-Faculty Show and other events.

• HELP WITH MARKETING

  Help spread the word about the Eliot School. Distribute catalogs. Input listings in on-line calendars. Help find new links for us on-line.

• REVIEW US

  Blog about our classes. Write about us in print or on-line. We love reviews, news articles, tweets, Facebook fan links and shout-outs of all kinds.

• PHOTOGRAPH US
  

  We always need photographs for catalog covers, postcards, our new blog and our website.

• ADVISE US

  We welcome pro bono professional advice in financial planning, building improvements (energy efficiency, decorating, classroom expansion, storage solutions, landscape design), curriculum design, marketing, diversity initiatives and more.
