Meet Our Students

Maggie Hill began taking classes at the Eliot School over four decades ago when she was 26 years old and starting out as an elementary school teacher. She hasn’t missed many classes since.

After many years in our furniture restoration and upholstery classes, she continues to take our sewing classes where she makes slipcovers, curtains and other embellishments for her house. Over the years, Maggie has refurbished and repaired almost everything in her living room and her pieces grace the homes of her relatives and friends.

She finds liberation in refinishing furniture and freedom in changing her own environment.

Additionally, Maggie advises the school on improving accessibility as part of our ongoing process of planning improvements to our space.
