Acrylic Painting 1F22

Age Group:
Teens (17+), Adults

Learners will begin with observation and explore composition, color, and value using a live model and still life as a subject.  Those with an established painting practice will find ways to infuse your process with new vigor and test the boundaries of your comfort zone.  Work on artistic subjects selected by the instructor or continue a work-in-progress with guidance and feedback.

Enjoy a relaxed and supportive atmosphere in which to grow your creativity.

I registered for this class because I wanted to be challenged.  Terry is an excellent teacher and teaches me to explore!

For years I have been a fan of Terry Boutelle's paintings. I am a middle-level painter, and wanted to paint with her. I have taken classes at Eliot School before and have loved the instruction and the atmosphere.  The class really pushed me to discover what I don't know and Terry gave me good instruction on how to improve on my techniques. Working alongside very experienced artists pushed me to reach higher. We had a live model that came to 4 sessions, and I had never had that experience. Wow! I learned a lot.  Terry is a wonderful teacher, as she took the time to go to every single student multiple times to offer suggestions and inspiration.

I wanted to kick start my return to painting now that I'm retired and have the time.  Terry was a thoughtful instructor and gifted at helping each person with their individual challenges and strengths. She left me with valuable insights and tools.

This class is open to learners of all-levels of experience, though some familiarity with painting is beneficial.
