Altered Books Workshop 1W23 - CANCELLED

Age Group:
Teens (17+), Adults

An altered book is any book, old or new, that has been recycled by creative means into a work of art. With no rules, the possibilities are only limited by your own imagination.

Transform books, old or new, into art objects. The book becomes a canvas, a sculpture or a reliquary of personally meaningful content. Draw inspiration from the book’s author or content, or purely use the book as a structure. Incorporate paper cutting, collage, bookmaking and other processes. Cristina will have books on hand, or bring your own, along with small objects and images to include.

Throughout the day, we’ll construct several projects to practice techniques and to get familiar with the materials.  A large assortment of scrap papers, collage materials…random bits of all sorts will be available. Think about adding your own photos, personal artifacts, and ephemera to the mix!

All materials provided, all skill levels welcome.
