Digital Photo Editing Basics 1S23 (Online!)

The art of editing digital photos is a valuable skill to master, whether you're a photographer looking to enhance your images, or a maker hoping to capture your work in photos.

Don't let the limitations of your camera, poor weather or a challenging subject ruin your photos.  Learn how to use photo-editing software (Lightroom) to correct color, adjust shadows and highlights, improve clarity, remove blemishes, crop for ideal balance and format your photos for use in various media (print, web).

Taking photos on-the-go? You'll even learn how to use your phone to edit mobile photos.

I wanted to learn how to edit my photos using Lightroom.  I liked the structure of asking about our prior knowledge and goals in taking the class, showing us how Lightroom was organized, going through a photo edit together (comparing the edits to the original to be able to notice various changes), and then going through the photos we'd uploaded to review and apply our learning at the end. It was incredibly informative the whole way through and especially exciting to see the edits he made for our own photos!

I registered for this class because I was interested in improving my skills with photo editing using Light Room.  I really enjoyed the small class size and the informal feel of the class made it easy to ask questions.

I wanted to get back into photo editing after being away from it for several years.  Erik explains everything clearly with just the right amount of detail.  The ratio was great, it was a small group and we all had a chance to ask our questions and get feedback. I liked that each of us had the opportunity to submit a photo for use during the class, and Erik then showed us how he would go about editing our photos, right there in real time.  It was great to learn from everyone's work and see how different editing techniques applied to different photos.
