Family Woodworking (Ages 4-8, 18+) 1F26

An opportunity for beginner adults and their very beginning youth woodworkers create memories and functional woodworking masterpieces!


In this 6-week class, adult and youth woodworkers will work together to learn how to safely use a variety of hand tools and collaborate on several projects. Students will go home with up to three projects, including a camping chair, birdhouse, and wooden cars. This class is designed for young woodworkers ages 4-8 years old accompanied by an adult.

Please note that this is not a drop-off class. Someone age 16+ must also register and accompany any child for the entirety of the class. Adults must be accompanying a child to register for this class. Each registration is for an individual student.

Jennifer Turpin is an art teacher who aims  to encourage artists of all ages to explore, experiment, play and use the creative process freely, with no judgement or self criticism. A graduate from Lesley University, Jennifer studied expressive arts therapies and incorporates additional modalities into mixed media creations of her own, this may include music, movement or storytelling. By integrating other modalities into visual art, the experience deepens and becomes more about the process of creating than about the final product.
