Indigo Dyeing - Indigo Vat 1S22

In this workshop students will create an "indigo (dye) vat", learning how to work with this unusual and historical dyestuff.

Each student will explore how to get different shades, shapes, resists and long lasting results. Students will also work with slow stitching resist if time permits. Students will learn how to make their own indigo dye bath at home. 

*This class will have a kit fee that includes all the dyestuffs, a handout and fiber.

This workshop occurs outdoors in the Eliot schoolyard, and pigments may permanently color clothing.  Please dress accordingly.
