Using still-life vignettes, we will explore color, texture, and composition. Students will experiment with color to develop their individual style.
While this class is for beginners, all levels are welcome.

Brigid Watson

Brigid Watson was born in Kent, Ohio. She has undergraduate degrees from Tufts and SMFA. She obtained her Masters in Painting from NYU/Venice, Italy. She exhibits at several galleries in the US. She has been the recipient of grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the Provincetown Museum, and the Mass cultural Council. She was a Polly Thayer Starrs fellow at the Gardner Museum. She has been teaching drawing and painting at museums, universities and ce schools in the greater Boston area for twenty five years.

Oil paints in Phthalo blue, Cadmium lemon, Alizarin Crimson, Titanium-Zinc White, Mars Black, & Burnt Sienna. Burnt Umber, Ultramarine Blue, Hansa Yellow, Quinacridone Magenta are optional.
Set of brushes
Canvas pads, 18" x 24" and/or 16" x 20"
Palette-paper pad
Painting Knife/Small Trowel
Turpenoid
Glass jars
Rags for cleaning brushes
Bring a smock or clothing you don't mind getting soiled.
All other supplies including paint, canvases, brushes, brush cleaner, and drawing boards will be provided.
