Plein Air Drawing & Watercolor Painting

Inspired by the surrounding neighborhoods of Jamaica Plain, capture the vitality of real settings and imagery while improving your watercolor skills. This class will focus on simplifying the complex elements of direct observation of the outdoors and teach the basics of building a solid composition. Meanwhile, practice color mixing and experiment with shading, lines, brush strokes and perspective. Demonstrations, critiques and discussion of materials and techniques are included. Class meets at various locations both indoors and outdoors. Students will be notified of locations weekly. Limit 10 students

Materials

-Pad of Watercolor Paper 11X14, at least 25 sheets.
-Pencils
-White Rubber Eraser or Kneadable Eraser
-12 Inch Ruler
-Set of Watercolor Brushes, including .6mm, .8mm, 1.2mm, and up from there. mixture of flat head and round brushes, at least 8 brushes total. 
-Mason jar with water in it (Need to bring your own water to each class for cleaning brushes and mixing)
-pack of baby wipes
-paper towels
-charcoal sticks (at least 4)
-set of 6+ Micron Pigma Pens
-Angora Watercolor set, 36 colors (No less!)
