Robotics with DEILab Ages 6-8 5A2-20
The DEILAB Engineering, Art and Innovation program blends Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math (STEAM) skill sets into an exciting hands-on project and challenged based class. Students will build everything from creative art pieces to motorized robots, skyscrapers and race cars. Art and Engineering are complementary crafts that form the basis of innovation. This hands-on program focuses on converting failure into fuel for success through idea generation, testing and iteration. The collaborative environment is structured to enhance curiosity and ignite ingenuity. This exciting program connects students to real-world applications.
DEILab visits the Eliot School each summer with LEGO and robotics classes for kids. Its curriculum is based on mechanical, artistic, architectural design and engineering projects.
"DEILab (pronounced "day-lab") was founded on the belief that art, design, science and technology will trigger a culture of innovation critical to our ability to compete on a world stage. Our labs focus on idea generation (ideation), iteration (prototyping), as tools for innovation using hands on LEGO projects as an activating agent in the chain of events. The programming fans out into corporate labs for adults, and summer camps, and after school labs for children and young adults."
