SPFC Week 2: From the Earth to a Sky (Ages 9-12)

Age Group:
Children

From the subjects we paint to the materials we use; the natural world is an integral part of the art making process. During this week we will feel our feet firmly planted in the dirt and our heads aloft in the clouds. Using a wide range of materials and mediums, students will learn to follow sustainable art practices, find out how materials like wood, pigment, and clay are sourced, and make artwork and structures that respect and reflect the landscapes in which we live.

Two classes will be formed from a pool. If you would like two or more students to be placed in the same class, let the summer program coordinator know a week before the session starts.

My child loves any opportunity to make things in a creative way.  She loved *everything* about the program: her instructors; learning to work with wood; the other students and the games they played at recess.  She also loved that she could walk to camp by herself because we live close enough!. The ratio of students to instructors was good and she had enough time to complete projects.  She's slow and careful with her art projects so if she says she had enough time, I feel it must be true!
