Teen Sewing Ages 12-16 1F19
Learn basics of hand and machine sewing, starting with simple projects and progressing to more complicated ones. The small class allows for individual attention, and we encourage students to share their skills. We supply materials for the first meeting. Then, with the instructor's advice, students bring their own fabric and assemble their own sewing kits.
Students may stay for more than one term and make new projects each time – or progress to Young Fashion Designers. This class fulfills the prerequisite for the Young Fashion Designers class.
Carol Price has been sewing since childhood, following the tradition set by her father, a tailor. She designs and sells her own line of women’s apparel, pillows, drapes, backpacks, handbags and dolls. Over the years, Carol has taught hundreds of people of all ages to sew at the Eliot School.
