Works in Progress: Art Critique

Making art is a solitary activity.  Sooner or later most of us want someone to see our art and give us feedback. In this workshop with Robert Siegelman, learn about the nature of giving a critique and how to look at and critique others’ work. Four to seven people will show a small group of pieces. Bob will lead a group critique, while offering his own insights. Art appreciators and artists at all levels are invited to take part in this lively and informative evening.

Participants should bring five pieces of recent related work, including work that is unfinished, or even “in the reject pile.” Feel free to bring in the good, the bad and the ugly for a complete view and feedback on your work.

This story from “The Moth,” the popular NPR series, features Robert Siegelman – "Bob" – in a class he teaches at the Museum School. We feel it perfectly reflects his power as a transformative teacher.

Robert Siegelman also teaches a one-day Figure Drawing Intensives once a month throughout the Fall & Winter. Immerse yourself in a full day of drawing with a dynamic teacher.
