350th Anniversary Event: Sew Many Mittens

Join Us for Sew Many Mittens!
Help us kick off our 350th anniversary celebrations with Sew Many Mittens—a mitten-making event dedicated to providing warmth and comfort to those in need during the cold months of winter by creating 350 pairs of mittens out of recycled wool clothing and blankets. Our partners, Friends of Boston’s Homeless, will distribute everything we make to unhoused people across the Greater Boston area.
We’re excited to give back to the community that has supported our mission for so many years. Bring your friends, family, or just yourself and help us make a difference this winter!

Date: Saturday, January 10, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Location: The Eliot Schoolhouse at 24 Eliot Street, Boston, MA 02130
What We Need
• Donations of gently used or new 100% wool clothing or blankets (holes are fine) by Friday, December 5.
• Drop them off Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM at:
• The Eliot Schoolhouse at 24 Eliot Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130
• The Eliot School Annex at 253 Amory Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130
• Volunteers of all ages and skill levels to create handmade mittens from donated materials. Our instructors will guide you through the process, so no sewing experience is required.
All of our shifts are now totally full, but you can still add yourself to the waitlist in case any volunteers have to drop out!

Experience an engaging atmosphere with a DJ spinning great tunes, complemented by tasty snacks and warm beverages. Enjoy meaningful conversations while you volunteer. Best of all, shifts are just three hours long, making it easy to fit into your day!
