Adventures on Yupo Paper 1W24
Loosen up as you get lost in the magical flow of watercolor on the silky surface of Yupo paper. The instructor will guide you to experiment with a variety of tools, materials, and techniques. All levels welcome.
Yupo is a synthetic paper made of polypropylene. Colors flow, swirl and bleed on its surface, creating unique effects when the water evaporates. Once the initial image is dry, you may rework areas, remove color and apply monoprinting techniques.
Limit 8 students
My favorite aspects of this class: 1. Ginny's teaching - she is a Master painter! 2. Being with real human beings again (yay!) and 3. the creative, no-pressure process... I also want to express my gratitude for the class being accessible to my hearing loss. Honestly, we were just getting started - we all want to continue with a Yupo Shop or studio taught by Ginny or one of her own advanced students at Eliot. This class was more exploration than technique and I'd love to keep exploring!
I took this class because I wanted to learn new techniques and try using new materials. The ratio of students to teacher was great, and four weeks was just the right amount of time. I'm excited to have learned how to work with a new medium!
