Other Ways to Give

Arts Advocates

Become an Arts Advocate. Sustain Creativity All Year Long.

Arts Advocates are the heartbeat of the Eliot School of Fine & Applied Arts. By giving monthly or quarterly, Arts Advocates provide reliable, year-round support that allows us to plan thoughtfully, respond creatively, and invest more deeply in our programs and community.

Because your gift is recurring, less of your generosity goes toward fundraising and administrative costs and more goes directly to the classes, studios, instructors, and outreach programs that make the Eliot School a vibrant home for creativity.

Arts Advocates Benefits

As an Arts Advocate, you’ll receive:

  • A yearly donation summary mailed each January to support your tax planning
  • A yearly impact report showing how your generosity made a difference
  • Insider invitations to special Eliot School events and experiences
  • A special Arts Advocate gift, recognizing your commitment to the School

Most importantly, you’ll know that your ongoing support helps ensure the Eliot School remains accessible, inspiring, and creatively alive—today and for generations to come.

Join Arts Advocates—Sustain Creativity Year-Round.

Donor Advised Funds

The Eliot School gladly accepts contributions from Donor Advised Funds. A DAF is a charitable giving vehicle that makes it easy for donors to simplify giving and philanthropic goals to dedicate funds in support of their favorite nonprofit organization. It also provides a convenient and tax-efficient method for donors to manage their charitable giving.

You may contribute directly through your account at DAF Direct (Fidelity, Schwab, or BNY Mellon). If your donor-advised fund is with a different entity, please process as usual through your advisor.

Legal Name: Trustees of Eliot School; Incorporated: 1843; Tax-exempt under IRS 501(c)3; Tax ID #04-2173050.

The Visionary Society

The Visionary Society recognizes donors who choose to include a gift to the Eliot School of Fine & Applied Arts in their will. Your decision to make a donation as part of your estate plan creates a lasting legacy for the work we do every day.

Leaving a gift in your will is an easy way to give back while ensuring you can provide for yourself and your family throughout retirement.

The Eliot School was founded—and continues to thrive—because donors like you have made gifts with the future in mind. Your generosity will help us inspire lifelong learning in craft and creativity for generations to come.

Visionary Society Benefits

As a Visionary Society member, you will receive:

  • An invitation to an annual luncheon featuring a talk or activity by one of our instructors
  • Special updates throughout the year
  • A gift in appreciation of your generosity

If you have already included the Eliot School in your will—or are interested in learning more about legacy gifts—we would love to recognize you as a Visionary Society member. Please contact Development Associate Alex Lewis so we can officially welcome you.

Bequest Gifts

A bequest intention is one of the most common ways to make a planned gift. You can designate a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate’s total value in your will or through a codicil.

Your bequest can support the Eliot School in various ways, including general funding, scholarships, or a future naming opportunity—all while allowing you to retain control of your assets.

Additionally, some donors choose to name the Eliot School as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement account, such as a 401(k), 403(b), or IRA.

Download our planned giving document for more details.

We recommend consulting your tax attorney or financial advisor to discuss the details of your planned gift.

Please note that our legal name is Trustees of Eliot School, and our federal tax ID is 04-2173050.

Vehicle Donation

We have partnered with Charitable Adult Rides & Services (CARS), a car donation processor that enables us to accept car donations from community members like you! CARS makes the process so simple that donating your car, truck, motorcycle, RV, or boat could be the easiest thing you do all day. So, support the Eliot School by donating your four wheels today!

Here’s How It Works:

  1. Complete the Online Donation Form Here or Call 855-500-7433. The CARS Vehicle Donation Support team is available seven days a week and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
  2. Schedule Your Free Pick Up. CARS will arrange to have a licensed tow company pick up your vehicle at a time convenient for you. The vehicle will be taken to one of CARS’s many sale locations where it will be sold—all at no cost to you.
  3. We Receive the Funds and You Could Qualify for a Tax Deduction! Vehicle donations are tax-deductible. You will be mailed a thank-you letter within 30 days of the sale of the vehicle, which also serves as a donation tax receipt.

In-kind Gifts, Tools & Supplies

We appreciate offers of tools and art supplies. However, due to our limited storage capacity, we are not accepting art material/supply donations unless they are brand-new and in their original packaging. We will also consider donations of lumber and woodshop machines. If you're interested in donating something within these parameters, please contact our Community Education Coordinator. Thank you for thinking of us!
