Basic Woodworking: Box 4F24

Learn fundamentals as you work a given plan through to completion. With a focus on six essential power tools, learn properties of wood and shop etiquette, interpret a plan, cut and mill stock and use basic machine joinery.

This class qualifies students for intermediate classes and for Woodworking Open Shop. It is our gateway to more advanced woodworking. Complete attendance is required to fulfill this requirement.

Completion qualifies students for intermediate and advanced classes, including Woodworking Open Shop.

*Attendance at all class-sessions is required to fulfill this pre-requisite.  Please register solely if you are able to attend every session.  Please see our policies on withdrawals and refunds before registering.

  • Tableware Week: Wood Bowls & Spoons
  • Wood Turning: Bowls & Beyond
  • Basic Woodcarving

We recommend you enroll early, as this popular class usually fills up.

Joe Stanewick

Joe Stanewick has been associated with the Eliot School since 1984 as a student and instructor. He learned cabinetmaking at Wentworth Institute and North Bennet Street School, and worked as a furniture restorer at Trefler & Sons.
