Comic Zines Ages 9-12 3F24
This workshop will introduce the students to the different genres of comics & storytelling, begin to familiarize them with materials and techniques, and to explore how to tell a story! We will be making a cover and 1-page comic of any story they want to tell. They will also be making a "zine" (short for fan magazine). This is a small comic/visual narrative piece where they can have some stylistic freedom, and create an entire "zine".
Students will walk away with a zine, a cover, and one page comic as well as the knowledge of how to handle different kinds of stories and how to make them with materials they can find at home. They will be learning what the comics process looks like, and how to make art that speaks to you!
