Need help producing that comics memoir or want to create your first mini-comic from scratch? Bring your ongoing comics projects to this open form studio class. Refine your storytelling chops, improve your drawing, learn technical skills, get your comics ready for print, and get feedback on what you are making. We will also study the masters of the medium and learn about their process. Make that comics project a reality!
Jerel Dye makes drawings, illustrations, books, video and new media performance. His art has appeared in children’s books, comics, animation and exhibitions throughout New England. He is developing his first graphic novel.
Jerel works as Media Arts Manager for Grassroots International and as a freelance illustrator. He earned his BFA at UMass Dartmouth and his MFA at Massachusetts College of Art & Design.

Materials for this class are dependent on how YOU want to produce your comics. You can work traditionally with pen and ink, or you can work with crayon, colored pencil, cut paper collage or right on your laptop, the list goes on.
