William is a great instructor- he organized the class well so I that people could move at their own pace while making sure he was able to teach everyone together and hands on as needed.   The ratio of students to instructor was spot on and time allowance was great.  There was enough time to complete the project and for those who were faster, they were able to keep moving along.

I took this workshop because I like to try new crafts and basket weaving was very unique.  I appreciated that the instructor was good at helping me fix any mistakes I made.  I'd like to take another basket weaving workshop - one that's an equal level but a different style basket!

The teacher was an excellent and informative instructor, the class was supported, and the final basket was fantastic.  The ratio is just right, as was the amount of time, and the fact that the materials were donated--was a great bonus!

The instructor was very positive and encouraging, and created a nice environment for learning--you could tell he has taught many classes in the past.

William Krier

William Krier

Born and raised among the Amish community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, William Krier developed an interest in the art of basket weaving and has been practicing this art since the 1980's. He enjoys the challenge that wicker basketry brings. Using a variety of agents from commercial dyes to nut hull stain to teas, William dyes and stains all of his own reed.

Weaving traditional baskets using bright colors is William's way of contemporizing the art of basket making.
