Basic Sewing 3S24
Learn how to operate a sewing machine, learn basic sewing terms, sewing methods and tools of the trades in order to choose, read and understand patterns. The aim of this course is to guide beginners, people who have never sewn or touched a sewing machine, to learn how to sew. Throughout class, students will learn to use a sewing machine as well as the basics of sewing including: how to pin, measuring fabric, and cutting fabric. Through guided practice and short projects, students will become self-sufficient not only on their machine, but also in sewing techniques, which are progressive. We will cover the logic, tools, and other considerations that must be understood in the construction of a sewing project so students leave class with the confidence to sew projects on their own.
We will review where to buy supplies in class.
**PLEASE NOTE: Enrolled students must not miss more than one consecutive class or they will not be able to progress in the course.**
