Both Rob and Brigid did a top-notch job of running this class: they are very qualified and communicate well with the students. The class is always on schedule, with excellent lighting and music, and provides a needed outlet for serious artists. Figure drawing is really important for artists working in many genres.
Rob Stull
Rob Stull is an illustrator, curator, designer and creator of comic books. In addition to working through his own studio, Ink on Paper, he has worked over two decades for every major publisher in the industry, including Marvel and DC Comics, where his projects include Spider-Man Adventures, Iron Man, X-Force, Wolverine, Nightwing and more. He also creates art for musicians, radio, television and magazines.
He is featured in the ground-breaking book, Black Comix: African American Independent Comics, Art and Culture, and in The History of American Graffiti. He created and curated Sequential Art: The Next Step, a traveling exhibition spotlighting the contributions of African Americans to mainstream comic book art and popular culture, featured at the National Center of Afro-American Artists (Boston), Words and Pictures Museum (Northampton MA), Afro-American Cultural Center (Charlotte NC), Tubman Museum (Macon GA) and elsewhere, and his work has also been shown in galleries around the United States.
He holds a BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.
“I have always believed that all art is relative. Sequential Art is a storytelling medium, but most visual art is telling a story of some kind.”
