Flag Artists' Books 1F24

Age Group:
Adults

Here's a favorite pop-up structure: Flag Books have wonderful sculptural possibilities. With multiple angles of view, they provide interesting double narrative potentials, contrasting viewpoints, or “yin and yang”, if you will. Viewers enjoy the visual movement of flag books. They beg the viewer to play and to keep interacting with the artwork. There are so many approaches to content. They're excellent for creative poetry, wish lists, sweet nothings, photographs, abstract designs, and more.

Both soft and hardbound versions will be completed. Exciting book cloth, handmade marbled and paste papers, linen threads and ribbons, and all the trimmings will be provided for inspiration.

All materials are provided along with technique handouts.

$30 materials fee payable to instructor in class.

Open to all media and skill levels.

Please bring drinks, snacks and lunch.
