Marbled Wood Plates 1M22

Age Group:
Teens (17+), Adults

A woodworking and marbling workshop in-one!  Create a wooden plate on the lathe and then decorate it using Turkish-style marbling techniques.

Start with pieces of tree limbs and trunks, make them round and take off from there. Beginners will learn basic lathe techniques while experienced students advance to the next level at their own pace. Wood will be provided in class; advanced turners may bring their own. Then decorate the bowls, creating beautiful swirls and mottling colors with marbling. Limit 8 students

Wood-turning: Plate-Making will take place on Saturday, July 30th from 1:30 to 6:30 pm, in the Wood Shop

Marbling will take place on Sunday, July 31st from 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm in the Art Room, upstairs
