Play with Clay (Ages 6-12) 1W25

In this class kids will get to learn the basics of the 3D medium, clay! Students will get comfortable with clay as they learn how to build pinch pots, coil pots, fist pots, and slab pots. Kids will learn how to create sculptural vessels using a variety of techniques. Students will learn how clay responds to touch and movements and how to manipulate clay to widen, lengthen, thin, and thicken. Students will walk away with a variety of small pots with different hand building techniques!

This class uses self-hardening clay that behaves like kiln-fired clay when worked. The pieces created in class will not be waterproof nor food safe. Pieces can be painted with acrylic and other paints, rather than glazes.

Children ages 6-12 welcome!

Make up date: Saturday 3/15/25
