Apply to Become Our 2028 Artist in Residence
Are you an artist who loves teen mentorship and engaging communities creatively? Then you are in the right place!
We are seeking a Greater Boston-based artist to be our 2028 Artist in Residence. Through a spring workshop series and summer intensive, the selected artist will collaborate with passionate youth in our Teen Bridge Program to create public art grounded in community engagement and shaped by both the artist’s creative vision and the teens’ voices and ideas.
Keep this year's residency theme of “Re-imagining the Future: Personal Histories, Self Expression & Community Resilience” in mind as you work on your proposal.
Proposals will be assessed based on their project’s clarity of vision, demonstration of both artistic excellence and community engagement, and ability to meaningfully encourage teens’ artistic development. The suggested themes for the 2027 residency are cultural identity, self-expression, and community resilience.
The selected artist receives a $15,000 stipend, up to $2,750 towards supplies, access to Eliot School spaces during spring workshops and the summer intensive, logistical support from staff, and photo documentation of the residency.
Learn more about the program and the application process from our Program Overview. Proposals will be accepted through Sunday, November 29, 2026.
