April Vacation Program 1S25 (Ages 9-12)

Our April Vacation Program offers instruction in two media: visual arts and woodworking. Students will be placed in two groups by age: 6-8 and 9-12. These groups will alternate between woodworking and visual arts in the morning and afternoon periods. Each class will be lead by two teaching staff and capped at 12 students to allow for individual attention.

Visual Arts (Morning Instruction)

For young artists who want to develop their skills in 2D and 3D art and have fun! Students will explore a variety of approaches, mediums, and techniques while developing their personal expression. They’ll learn the basics of composition, pattern, line, and color through projects inspired by imagination and observation. Media may include drawing, painting, sculpture, mosaic, acrylic, collage, pastel, print making, and comics.

Woodworking (Afternoon Instruction)

For kids that want to learn or build upon the basics of woodworking. Children will build projects in wood with basic tools and techniques in an environment that emphasizes creativity and safety. As they gain experience and skill, more complex projects follow. Students will experience the pleasure of building things and completing them to take home.

Instruction takes place inside the Eliot Schoolhouse. Play, snack, and lunch time will take place in both the Schoolhouse and, when the weather permits, the Schoolyard.
