We’ll be covering the basics you need to begin your drawing journey! We’ll be talking about drawing from shapes, sketching places and figures, basic perspective, light and shadow, and more! Be prepared to explore visual concepts.
I took this class because I wanted to draw again and hopefully progress to watercolors. By far, what I enjoyed the most about this class was the teacher--Eli is an excellent instructor! I feel confident, having taken this class, to take a more advanced drawing class and eventually move on to watercolors.

Eli Portman
Eli Portman was born and raised in the Greater Boston area. He graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a Bachelors Degree in studio art in the spring of 2014.
Primarily focusing on drawing, Portman also experimented with oil painting and woodblock printmaking during his time at University. He has since returned to the Boston area, where he currently lives, and teaches art to children and adults. His artwork has been hung in galleries, shops and cafes throughout the Greater Boston Area. Portman is a member of the Copley Society of Art and was a featured artist in the Torosiete Online Art Museum. Portman has been hired for murals, private commissions, illustrations and more, and released a coffee table book of his art in 2017.
