Gel Plate Printmaking 1F26

Explore the fun and versatility of printing from a gelatin plate in this hands-on workshop. Students will learn techniques including silhouette printing, subtractive and additive methods, layering, and overprinting while creating colorful one-of-a-kind monotype prints on a variety of papers. Participants will leave with a collection of uniquely printed cards and the knowledge to continue printing at home using this accessible process that requires minimal supplies and no press.

Gel Plate Printmaking

I wanted to get back into creating art, and in taking this class I rediscovered the joy of creating again!!  The enthusiasm of the instructor was refreshing and her friendliness and creative spirit were awesome.  Lynda was very qualified and I understood her instructions and would definitely take a class with her again.  I was very glad to have all the tools and equipment provided by the instructor. It made taking the class much easier.  I'd love to continue with more gel plate printmaking now and in the future!  I've taken many classes at the Eliot School over the years and have enjoyed them all!

I enrolled in this workshop first, because of Lynda’s reputation as an excellent & supportive teacher…  Second, she *knows* how to reach successfully. You always learn a lot in her classes, even if you’ve taken multiple ones. She’s always cheerful, super helpful, and flexible.  Lynda’s pedagogy and guidance, her flexibility, her attitude that there’s no such thing as a “stupid “ question make her a great instructor to learn from.  I love the space, too! The paint-stained tables, the woodwork mantle, the fact that there are huge rolls of kraft paper that anyone can use.
