Private Woodworking Studio Sessions: All Hours 1MF26
Looking for individualized woodworking instruction and dedicated shop time? Students may register for private one-on-one instruction with one of the Eliot School’s experienced woodworking instructors. These sessions are ideal for beginners seeking focused support, experienced woodworkers developing independent projects, or anyone looking to build specific woodworking skills in a personalized learning environment.
Private instruction may include guidance in woodworking fundamentals, machine operation, joinery, furniture making, woodturning, carving, project planning, troubleshooting, and more, depending on student goals.
During the summer months, private instruction is generally available weekdays from 5:30pm–9:30pm and on weekends. During the fall, private instruction is generally available from 9am-9:30pm and on weekends.
All classes must be used by the end of calendar year 2026.
After you register, a coordinator will work with you to schedule sessions that accommodate your interest and availability.

- 5 Hours: $575
- 10 Hours: $1,000
- 15 Hours: $1,400
- 20 Hours: $1,650

Private Woodworking Instructors
The Eliot School’s woodworking program is rooted in a long tradition of craftsmanship, mentorship, and hands-on learning. For generations, Eliot woodworking instructors have shared professional expertise in furniture making, cabinetmaking, restoration, carving, turning, and traditional joinery while fostering a welcoming and community-centered studio environment.
Known for an emphasis on strong technical foundations, thoughtful design, and respect for materials and tools, Eliot woodworking instructors guide students through both traditional and contemporary woodworking practices. Whether introducing beginners to the fundamentals or supporting experienced makers in developing advanced skills, instructors are committed to cultivating confidence, creativity, safety, and craftsmanship in the shop.
Students are responsible for providing their own project materials, including wood, hardware, finishes, paint, and specialty supplies. General shop consumables and shared equipment are included.
