Watercolor for Beginners (5 Week) 1W25

This beginner-friendly course will introduce you to the essential techniques needed to create beautiful watercolor paintings, even if you’ve never picked up a brush before. Each lesson will build your confidence, guiding you through color theory, brush handling, and composition. By the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge and skills to paint landscapes, florals, and abstract pieces, while developing your unique artistic voice.
By the end of the course, the students will complete several watercolor projects, featuring at least one still life, a landscape painting, and an abstract composition. The students will understand how to choose the right materials (paper, brushes, pigments) if they want to get more advanced in watercolor painting, and feel confident using watercolor techniques to express their creativity in their artistic pursuits.
The makeup date for this class is 2/27/25 if needed.
- Watercolor paint (at least a set of 12 colors)
- Watercolor brushes (1 large, 1 medium, and 1 small brush)
- Watercolor paper. Note, typically, watercolor paper is thicker to be able to hold more water. The density of 300 gms/140lbs is preferred(usually specified on every sketchbook), but 200 gms/110 lbs paper will do
