Stop, Drop & MAKE

At our Schoolhouse on Monday, January 20 from 2–6 PM, we will be hosting Stop, Drop & Make, the second iteration of an event we ran around Inauguration Day in January 2017. This event is FREE and open to anyone looking to come together and create. You can bring your own project to work on or participate in art-making stations facilitated by our staff members, teaching artists, and local makers!
Fair Play with Non Issue Studio
Experience and interact with Fair Play, a collection of unconventional table tennis paddles and tables hand-crafted by artist & fabricator Dyllan Nguyen of Non Issue Studio. What if you could transform a popular game into something that mirrors how individuals in society interact with each other? Play, experiment, create new games, and design your own cardboard paddle.
Plant and Propagation Station
Adopt or swap a new plant at our Plant Swap and Propagation Station. Learn how your new plant likes to be cared for, and how it can care for you. Propagate cuttings and decorate containers. Fill out and decorate custom adoption cards for any plants you donate to the station. Plant and cutting donations are enthusiastically accepted but not required. All plants will be free for adoption while supplies last!
Fibers & Mixed Media Open Studios
Bring your own project or explore the materials we have available, including: yarns, fabric, assorted papers, markers, colored pencils, and more! V Ramírez Martell, Director of Community Education at the Eliot School and multidisciplinary artist, will host the station and can provide short tutorials on a variety of fiber arts and mixed media techniques. If you’re interested in a particular technique/consultation, you’re welcome to email ahead of time at [email protected].
To ensure we have enough space and materials available you are encouraged to RSVP below, but it is not required.
