Create beautiful swirling designs and traditional raked patterns with Turkish Paper Marbling. Spend the day with your own marbling vat, custom colors and a wide range of paper choices. These lovely papers can be used in mixed media, collage, book arts, greeting cards, and even framed as a unique print. This historical decorative art technique is a joyous experience in the making and the having.

This workshop will explore the relationships between the artist, journals, personal narratives and creative art process. We'll use a variety of collage techniques with dry adhesives, new perspectives on connections and layering, unique surface treatments and strategies to highlight the unique features that book structures can add to your artwork.

After exploring different styles of journals, you'll choose between store-bought journals, altered books, or your own handmade book to continue for the afternoon.  Demonstrations will include collage, packing tape transfers, unusual text treatment, weaving, and pop-out elements.
