Explore the world of artist’s bookmaking with this survey of techniques and applications. From single sheet constructions, accordions, and sewn binds to more complicated Japanese puncture/stab binds, portfolios, pop-ups and unique hybrids, this course covers all the materials and techniques needed to create personal artist’s books. Students will complete examples of each technique in sizes from 4x6, 5x5 to 3x4 inches, along with a phase box to house the collection. Focusing on larger-scale, personal projects will continue throughout the month with critique and discussion to end each afternoon.
