Where We Stand & The Work to Come

Where We Stand & The Work to Come

"Let the globe, if nothing else
Say this is true
That even as we grieved, we grew
That even as we hurt, we hoped
That even as we tired, we tried"

Let us remember Amanda Gorman’s reading of her inauguration poem "The Hill We Climb." Her words lifted us like a wave of hope, paving the way for brighter days to come. Let us reflect on those joyful moments in yesterday's inauguration ceremony--even though just days before, our hearts were sore from witnessing the brutality, murder, and incitement of violence in our nation's capital. Even though, the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed again the stark inequalities in our world, including the terrible disparities in health care, schooling, and economic hardship. To all in our community and beyond, let yesterday's celebration remind us to continue to try, hope, grow---and create.

Now more than ever, in all of our work, we continue to pursue a more just and equal world. Through our PartnershipsTeen Bridge, and In-House programs, we are thinking carefully about how we can fulfill our mission to inspire lifelong learning in craft and creativity for all in more profound ways. We want you to know that we are dedicated to this fight, supporting a just world, free of racism and violence, for all.
