If you need to learn how to use a sewing machine for the first time, Basic Sewing is for you. Learn how to operate a sewing machine, learn basic sewing terms, sewing methods and tools of the trades in order to choose, read and understand patterns.

**PLEASE NOTE: Enrolled students must not miss more than one consecutive class or they will not be able to progress to the next level in the course.**

In this workshop, I will talk about and demonstrate ten interesting techniques for using the gelliplate. I will also talk about some basic concepts related to gelliprinting and discuss different types of paint and paper. Students will then try out these techniques on their own, using most of the rest of the workshop to perfect these techniques and make multiple prints using the techniques they enjoy the most.

Go beyond basics with zippers and get started with a garment of your choice. Adjust a pattern for your size; choose and cut fabric expertly. Take this class as many times as you like to solidify your essential sewing skills and complete a series of projects. Students will go home with samples of closures etc that were made in class. This class uses Janome Model 731 sewing machines. 

We'll discuss where to purchase supplies during class.

Join this weaving class available to all skill levels! In this class, you'll learn how to make a handmade tapestry and gain the knowledge to continue with your new craft.

Loosen up your watercolor practice through playful exercises, expressive brushwork, and fresh approaches to color and composition.

Learn basic quilting techniques and then expand into areas where the quilt becomes art, exploring what makes good design, shape and color composition, and finally touching on surface elements and dimensionality.  You'll use scraps of favorite fabrics to design and sew a quilt.  By the final class, you'll be equipped with new ideas, techniques and inspiration to continue your own work.

Transform photographs into layered mixed media artworks using image transfers, collage, and experimental surface techniques.

Students will become familiar with the foundations of drawing and painting techniques paired with particular attention to figure drawing and art history. Students will walk away with awareness of shape, line, composition, proportion drawing, art history context, and handling of drawing and painting materials.

For young storytellers that want to make their own comics! With their instructor, students will develop unique styles and dynamic characters by looking at references from anime, manga, DC, and Marvel. They will love creating and sharing visual stories of their own.
