Make a quilted throw pillow! This one-day workshop is a chance for for beginner and experienced quilters alike to work on a small project. Engage with quilting by trying out a new idea in one day.

Students can choose designs for their pillow that range from traditional blocks to improvised shapes, or a combination of both. They will then machine piece a throw pillow cover. Students will be given the choice to hand or machine quilt the layers of their pillow case together. They will walk away with a finished pillow 18" square pillow and the fundamentals to keep quilting.

They will begin by sewing bags, pillows, and simple clothing. As they gain more experience and skill, more complex projects follow. Students will love making things for themselves and their loved ones!

Build on your basic basket weaving skills! Student will work with rattan and apply both basic and wicker weaving skills.  Student will create a functional basket measuring 10” x 14” with a 14” handle.

This class will teach students how to make their own assemblages with found objects from their home and second-hand shops. Whether it be a photo of a great aunt, a collection of buttons, or parts of a old kitchen gadget, students will find new meaning and (re)purpose in all things both cherished and banal.

For young storytellers that want to make their own comics! With their instructor, students will develop unique styles and dynamic characters by looking at references from anime, manga, DC, and Marvel. Young artists will be engaged, inspired, and introduced to storytelling as a visual medium. Kids will create stories of their own through pictures, e.g., picture books, comics, and illustrated prose.
